If I start to dread my hair when it isn’t THAT long. Is that okay. Or do I have to wait till my hair is super long.

I LET my hair dread up now but just the tips are dreaded like 1-2 inches my hair is dreading up a little at a time but i was just wondering if they will look decent if i continue to dread them with natural neglect with out backcoming, should i use rubber bands ?

I think depends on your hair… Certain hair types can get away with neglect, but if you have finer hair (like if you are white), they’ll probably be pretty messy.

I wanted to know, from those that have experience with this method, how close together should the comb teeth be? And is it alright if I use hair gel rather than dread wax?

Never use wax because it’ll stay and harden inside your dreads
and hair gel isn’t a good idea either.Don’t put shit on your hair.
All you need in growing dreads is time.

i want to make them too..the best way to find out how to make them is to lock on web-sites…try dreadhead or some think like that…..if you want to make them yourself it is going to be hard….best way is your friend helps you to do them only if he/she knows how to do them……and it is not important how long your hare is long but you must know that when you make them your hair will be shorter a few inches….for me the hardest part is to find someone to help me to make them cause i live in that kind of town where the people don’t even know what those are….lucky you!!
